Planning out a color theme for my ‘22 Lunar Rock OR that came with the Blackout package pre-installed. Looking for opinions plus anyone who wants to share what they did or are planning to do.

    (1) All black. Interior de-chrome kit with all black options. Exterior smoked tail lights and 3rd break light, remove red TuRD stickers, window tint, and eventually darker wheels.

    (2) Same as above only some interior Lunar Rock accents. AJT Design has customizable colors in their chrome delete kit but unfortunately only 4 of the 11 pieces are available in my color. They say it’s lack of demand vs a currently out of stock situation so it’s not happening. Might look odd only having a few accents.

    (3) Patriotic. I have an Tufskinz American Flag gas cap holder and was considering a flag trailer hitch cover. What if I go all out? I could buy the AJT chrome delete kit in a mix of red, white, and blue. Maybe red vent rings and door handles, white radio knobs and glovebox inlay, and then blue climate control rings and shift knob.

    Thoughts?

Sounds like you just want to go with what everyone else does. Good luck.

I’m not very creative nor good at picturing things in my mind. Just wanted some feedback before spending the $. Also people might know of other products/suppliers I haven’t stumbled on yet.

I did save my money, for 35 years. Finally able to sell my ‘98 and buy my first new vehicle this century. I’m not loaded, but I can do a few fun things just for me now. But staying with stock on everything is an option to consider. It does look good now.

Just looked up a post of yours, your truck does look good as-is. And as you stated, you should have fun with it. But spending hundreds to delete a little chrome just doesn't ring the bell for me.

Option 4. Go with a non LR color that floats your boat. I went with red because I'm a man child and I like saying TRD-Red really fast. I didn't buy a red truck.

Well my middle school, high school, actual college, sports fan college (Huskers) and pro team (Chiefs) are all red, so if I go all one color that’s not LR it would definitely be red.

Ha! Well the Japanese flag is red and white. And this was made in Mexico which is red, white, and green and LR has a green tint in some lighting. Maybe I just leave the blue out then I have all 3 countries covered.

I don’t even notice the chrome in my truck it’s so subtle (and I hate chrome). I’m with everyone else saying “who cares, save your money”. If ya want the best Mod, it costs 40-50 bucks and it’s the AJT or Z-Precision big cup holders. Buy those right now, install em and call it a day on the inside of the truck. Leave Interior decoration to Christmas trees and women.

I like the black out options, but personally think bronze wheels look really good on lunar rock. I wish they made more interior lunar rock accents, but im gonna go with some lunar rock and blackout the rest. Definitely tint the tail lights, make it look wayyyy better!

Some SR5's had some kind of accent option where you could get orange/red.

Dont have LR Taco (I have white) BUT i will say I opted for blue accents from AJT to delete the chrome interior. I just went with what I really like obvs the color blue LOL I even have the liners for the cup holders and stuff that have a blue accent.

I was really on the fence about doing just black or gray but I realized it was what a lot of people did and I didnt want everything to just be dark

Thinking of changing out the vent rings back to black and making the trim around the touch screen into a blue but it would bother me if it didnt match the rest of the blue inside. I even have the TACOMA letters on the glovebox in blue as well as the TACOMA lettering on the door sill.

In the future I'd love to drop some money on Katzkins that have some blue accents as well

I think your Lunar Rock Access Cab OffRoad looks beautiful as is!!

I would just get a set of 16 inch wheels and mount them on your current set of tires and call it a day!!

A nice new set of wheels can be had from as low as $500 and it will really change your trucks look for the better.

You're the only one that knows what your taste is. If you want accents or changes it's up to you. You can go gradually or all out at once. I bought a Corvette a few years ago. The mileage and price were too good to pass up. Only problem was the previous owner added tons of stuff inside passenger area and out including painting things in engine bay and fender stickers. In red! Took me 2 years to finally get rid of it all.
