Probably because they know that they will fit correctly and some people just prefer OE products. Also, refills have been a thing of the past for many auto manufacturers, so...

As for blades sitting on the shelf for "eight years"? Blades are a very fast moving product so don't worry about getting stale blades.

Toyota hasn't stopped making or selling the inserts. If that dealer no longer wants to stock them, that's a different story.

I am not a fan of the "Toyota" non-factory wiper blades like the ones originally linked. They just made by random aftermarket wiper companies and thrown in a box with the Toyota logo on them. MVP (market value parts) they call them.

Just put Bosch Icons on mine last week. They work great, as always. Have been using them for years on multiple cars and have never been disappointed.

I've been running these on several of my cars for over 3 years now. They work well, last a long time and come with one set of refills so your basically getting two sets at this price. Also, you can buy refills when the two that come with them wear out.

Since no one has mentioned it:

"Local Stealership won't order wiper blade replacements"

How you gonna call it a stealership, and then complain you can't buy oem wiper blades in the same sentence? lmao. Do you fill up with oem gas from them as well?

Gotta have those OEM wiper inserts to keep that filthy aftermarket rain off the windshield.

Blades and inserts from the dealer fit properly and are usually made out of natural rubber. I have found them to work the best after many decades and trying after market ones. I buy inserts from dealer or Amazon and get the oem rubber ones. Slide into existing oem metal frames that already fit windshield curve. They last at least a year, work great and are not costly. Just my experience in over 40 years.

Here's your insert part numbers. 85214-0E140 and 85214-04030. The blades they are trying to sell are called Sightline Blades or as I call them Sh!tline Blades. They a just a cheaper version of the OE blades.

I run the OEM wipers on my Tacoma, they just seem to be a higher quality part. That being said, the sightline blades are a decent alternative. As for the inserts, the dealer probably just doesn’t want to stock them. The come in bags and aren’t huge sellers and kind of a pain to keep up with. So they typically sit without selling.

I order Bosch replacements from rockauto online, for about a third of the price of most wipers... and they last twice as long.

You have a real first world problem...

Ran into the same issue with my local dealer. Ended up grabbing brake cleaner, microfiber cloths, rainex repellant, and rain-x blades from autozone. been through the Siskiyous, grants pass the past couple days with heavy rain and snow conditions. couldnt be happier. night and day difference compared to OEM blades!
