Hey, I'm trying to remove this shift knob the previous owner installed. It's on here so tight my arm is aching, and the shaft the knob is screwed to is the only thing moving? Multiple people say its just a hard twist, but holy crap should the shaft even move? Thanks to anyone that responds

Shaft shouldn’t be spinning. Is there a small set screw holding it from spinning?

Have you tried pliers with a towel under it?

The stock shift arm isn’t solid. The part the knob screws on is a hollow shell filled with a rubber vibration isolator. The part that attaches to the shift mechanism is a bar inside the shell. If the arm is spinning as you try to unscrew the knob, the rubber has failed.

If you’re not the original owner, someone before you might have screwed it on with locktight.

It worked, thank you so much dude. Now I have this silly aftermarket knob off of here, and the original back on!
