A friend sent me this little ditty.

Now, most seniors never get enough exercise. So, in His wisdom, God decreed that seniors become forgetful so they would have to search for their glasses, keys, & other things, thus doing more walking. And God looked down & saw that it was good.
Then God saw there was another need.In His wisdom He made seniors lose coordination so they would drop things, requiring them to bend, reach, & stretch. And God looked down & saw that it was good.
Then God considered the function of bladders & decided seniors would have additional calls of nature, requiring more trips to the bathroom, thus providing more exercise. God looked down and saw that it was good.So if you find, as you age, you are getting up & down more, remember that’s the way God designed us. It's in your best interests, even though you mutter under your breath.

Thanks - although I officially retired last year.... Well, looks like full retirement is put off..... till the first of July. Boss asked if I'd keep working - part time - until the end of June (so hopefully we can get caught up and make it through our "busy season"). Both of the guys recently hired are both retired and came back to work, so I'm in good company.

Thanks Carl.... actually I'm enjoying the part time gig. Work, but no "responsibilities", so not much stress.
Oh, crap.... guess I need to write out that check to Uncle Sam :pout::rant::annoyed::angrygirl: Deadline coming up fast. Hope your hemorrhaging slows down to a trickle.

Hi Ken, I know.... Getting put off again, but that's ok.

Have a great night all :hattip:

Talking about side jobs while in the Service? While on Midway Island, I set pins at the bowling alley. I made a whopping 25¢ per line, and during League nite, that was fast money. (Hefting those pins and jumping alley to alley put on some muscle also!) I did that for my entire 8 month tour, and came back Stateside with enough saved to pay cash for a new 1962 Austin Healey Sprite, $1963 including tax and License. I pinched pennies, bought nothing but soap and razor blades for that tour, and was proud of my achievement, which included screwing car dealer (Former 49er Cornerback) Horsetrader Ed out of $100 of his commission. Horsetrader Ed Ballati had played 3 seasons for the SF 49ers in an earlier life, lost his car dealership license to a Felony conviction, and was selling for another dealer at that point. He had inadvertently included a coupon in one of his letters on pricing. That man was so pissed when I pulled out that coupon, his face was beet red and I thought he was going to have a heart attack!

Good for you Sue. It may take a little time but you’ll soon love retirement. Do all the things you want to do, live your dreams. Don’t put off things you really want to do, you will regret it if you do. Just go out and do it. Retirement is a journey, enjoy the trip.

Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!! Life truly is good, Sue, when you do finally retire fully. Nothing like being able to set your own schedule and do what you want, go where you please, and enjoy each day.

I hear you. My small 2 bay NAS has 6tb. But more important is the system ram which is only 128gb. Looking for a NAS with higher ram, you can always add storage. I am what a true IT pro would call dangerous. I know enough but not a lot. When I tackle a new IT project, I tend to do a lot of research and develop a realistic budget. So far it has worked for me. Updating the operating system and the installed packages has made me more proficient in using the NAS. Learning a lot about security and functionality. I need to start researching LANs and how to partition different functions on the LAN to avoid congestion. Good times.

Susan, after reading your second post, I do hope you are training a replacement. You are going to love full retirement.

Good morning. Today is a music lesson and cleaning out a cabinet. Pasta with meatballs for dinner.

    Good Morning Folks :hattip:

Working part time is a good way to ease into retirement Sue. Gives you a chance to have a semi retired life. Good thing for you is more Grand Kiddo visits :D.

Went to see the foot surgeon yesterday and go in to have my toes repaired on April 7th. Doc told me I should have had this done months sooner because now there is more damage to the joint and he is going to have to rebuild the socket . He told me the toe will now be shorter than it originally was , there goes my foot modeling career . 6 to 8 weeks no weight bearing which means no driving :(. I'll see how it goes.

Have a good day all and be safe.

    Morning all:

    :facepalm::facepalm:

It does slow down to a trickle Sue, and the funds do replenish, but then the hemorrhaging starts all over again. There are two periods during the year, spring and fall, where the bank account really takes a hit because of several annual monetary outlays that all come in around the same time. :annoyed:

I remember the pinsetters alan, sometimes sat with them as a kid when my mom bowled, never got to do that though, because when I became old enough they had been replaced by the automatic version.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Was so windy yesterday, I had to stop on my way to Best Buy to fasten the velcro again on my tonneau! It was blowing off. So, yesterday was a successful RETURN to Best Buy to give back the replacement Sony AV - out of the box, it was doing the same thing on start up - aside from the annoying every time start menu fight that Sony knows about, the fight over it deciding to watch the BlueRay play was there, and worse! Monday, I got online with Sony, after trying everything I could find about an issue you can't find, and generated over 20 pages of useless chat; that resulted in Sony telling me to turn off the ARC features, and use ALL FOUR remotes just to turn on and watch TV. That isn't a solution. I got kicked up the chat to an expert that never showed up. That, was the end of that. Took it back, was treated wonderfully, and have a similar Onkyo that actually does what it's told. So, that's what yesterdays plan was!

Truck will be here with my project after noon sometime, so more coffee and figure what to putz until then. Have a lot of veggies to pot, and watering system to work on, so plenty to choose from.

And, here I was going to make sure to wish you a happy retirement Sue, but you faked us out again!!

That sucks being off your feet or not getting enough movement at this stage of life isn't that good for us. Hope you can get upper body exercise. Good luck with the surgery foot work hurts like hell. Had a bone spur removed ten years ago. My foot looks like it has a chunk missing on the side.

Thanks. Hope I can get one of those knee scooters so I can get around and I am digging out the cruthes to practice so I don't have to be completely immobile. See what comes down the pike.
