Looking to get insight on running ditch light wires through the gromet/firewalls on a 3rd gen running it into the cab. Anyone know if I need to cut slots to run the wire through? If so where? Any insight is needed and pics will help. Thanks.

No. Poke a small hole with a pocket screwdriver and tape the wire to the end and pull it through.

^ there's a grommet in the firewall on the drivers side that you can send the wire through is what this guy is saying.

I don’t have wheel wells so yours will look different but you want this grommet.

Just be careful poking a hole. Don’t use a drill or hot wire. Just go off to the side with a screwdriver and you’ll be fine.

Poke a hole with the screwdriver from the gromet all the way back to the cab side of the gromet?

It's pretty thin, might take a couple pokes to get your wires through

I usually like to go the other way. Poke from the cab side towards the engine side. Watch where the harness leans on either side, be gentle, and try to aim away from that direction. You don't want to break an existing wire. I found that there was more room in the engine to attach the wire, so that you aren't doing back breaking contortions under the dash. Fewer contortions, at least.

Yeah this is what I did too. From the interior out. Not into the bundle but the outside. Like it’s a rubber donut with a wire harness in the middle. Stab the donut!

Hood Struts, My version Fogs always ON, Map & Overhead Light Mod,
If they are going to be ON with other lights, then no need to run any wire through the firewall.

Most people don’t realize this area exists because you can’t see it. You can feel it just below the large bundle of wires. Cut the tip off and you have about a 3/8 hole for routing wires into the cab. If your wire is smaller, just put a zip tie around the rubber grommet.
