Hey Connecticut, our backs hurt

Sounds like it. New aftermarket brakes all the way around and now there’s a spongy pedal. No air in system.

 

When I first got into. The business 30 years ago I worked at a Goodyear store and got sent down to Delaware to their corporate school. The instructor explained how the seal gets jacked up from extending the piston beyond it's normal range and into the junk that builds up there. He said always put one foot under the pedal when pumping it up. Never had a problem since.

 

I’m looking at an intermittent no start. Maybe the writer will tell me what’s wrong with it.

 

Fixed the no start. Cleaned the battery terminals.

Wow things get exciting fast!
first comes flames, then the plastic breaches, then the toxic white smoke comes shooting out the hole with great enthusiasm & rather impressive projection.
Only in the aftermath comes the divots in the aluminum frame whereupon the shorting 1st began.

So now I know - flames are no deterrent to my autoresponse, however toxic smoke I respond to in a much smarter manner.

Fortunately Piuseseseses' use nickel metal hydride batteries & not Lithium. Lithium could'a-been exciting enough to involve professionals & the insurance company.

But now I'm balancing 56 - er, 55 batteries. I'm going to say the 6.6v unit was causing the triangle of death. Oddly all others were just below 8v where you'd want them. Still, all will be balanced.

We'll see if I blow any of them up later when I try to add more voltages to the array.

Do any aftermarket radios have power off buttons like the oem volume knob? I have a pioneer hu and it has some quirks which I have come to accept and live with but can only be fixed with a reboot which means turning the truck off and restarting. Not exactly convenient when cruising down the highway. It has a display off mode but it is still powered. I need a switch to cut power to it so it can reboot while driving.

Hoping to have my antenna cables run today. Then I could reinstall the radio (for the last time?).

 

Usually on aftermarket radios you hold the power button down from three to ten seconds. What radio is it? There isn't a little hole that you insert paper clip to reset it?

 

Does it have a menu button or icon? If it does, try holding that down until it shows "reset"

Dude, I feel like since my kid started day care it's been nonstop fighting off the sickness crap she's been bringing home. Been feeling like garbage on/off since the start of the year. Feel your pain!

 

It's rough being a parent... they're constantly bringing home stuff to share with us.
