Haha! I think they will use the trim levels to bring back color to remove the mandated handlebar moustache of that design! Make people pay to have it not look like a tundra.

What do you pre-order without knowing the trim levels and options? Not trying to be a smart-ass, just trying to understand. Unless there is a joke that went over my head....

He went full on and pre ordered the PRO.

There is no pre order without a full release

Next up you get to “order” the spec and color you want. Just all for a minimum non refundable 5k deposit to be able to pay markup when they arrive

So is it really a pre-order at that point or an inquiry? Did you have to put $ down? Is there some sort of list?

If I remember correctly he’s supposedly “working“ for Ford. At the least he’s done some homework and knows some things. My guess is he’s either really a Ford employee that’s being passed some Toyota info through connections, or he’s really a Toyota employee who’s trying to assume a false Ford identity to help conceal his own.

Personally I could care less what leaks or insider info get passed along. The only thing I care about in regards to a new model are what the final release looks like. Along with what the long term reliability and performance is going to be.

So, i've been wanting to upgrade from my 2014....really wanted a Tundra....but now i'm willing to wait to see what his new Gen tacoma looks like, if it has the features I want, then i might go for my 3rd tacoma....started with a 2004, then a 2014...lets go for a 2024....keep the trend goin...lol

I don’t want to mention dealership names, but I am in Hampton Roads.
I’m guessing they told me to come back in May, because that’s about the time frame next year’s models come out or get announced.
For the mean time, I think everything is just rumors.
And NO, I didn’t give them any down payment!

Is that a for sure thing that it will have a smaller engine?

toyota is pretty committed to the smaller, turbo'd engine on the newer generations.

I was kind of assuming they would put something similar to the Tundra engine

but here is my thing...I'm not an offroad guy, and I don't tow anything...I drive my truck daily to and from work, and the occasional trip to home depot or Lowes for the wife to get bags of dirt and mulch...I don't need a huge engine...i want something that gets decent MPGs when I take my girls on a weekend trip or just driving around the city

Fair enough, was just curious. It will be cool if you get 1 of the 1st in your area. Good luck.
