What I didn’t say very well was my fog lights were always on, unless the brights are on or the stalk is turning all lights off.
I was able to disconnect the pass through for the indicator lamps in the switch and it behaves as intended. In this case it looks like the indicator lamp circuit is powering the fog lights to be on until they are overridden by control module to not be on.
I’ll setup a test circuit with some 9v and a bulb and if I can figure out the correct wiring orientation and post results.
My goal is to have the fog light switch control the fog lights as if it were “stock” and have illuminated switch.

Is your switch stuck in the “on” position because if it’s off, they should be off even if the headlights are on.

The switch cycles fine according to an ohmmeter.
From what I can conclude from setting up a test circuit. The only configuration that works with batteries and a test light bulb is. Illumination Power source + to green wire and - to black wire. (Outside pair)
Light source power + to red 1 and - to light bulb, lead from light bulb to red 2.
What I call working is -
Switch off - light bulb is off and only the word fog light is lit on switch.
Switch on - light bulb turns on and the word fog light and indicator on top of the bulb is illuminated.
Using the Cali Raised Illumination harness as provided result is fog lights are always on regardless of switch.
When I unplug and only use the green wire to pin 26 and the red 1 to ground , with out using any illumination power.
The switch fog lights behave as intended.
I’ve tried a few different scenarios with wiring in the truck and cannot get both illumination and fog light function to work correctly together.
I’m beginning to wonder if the switch I have is not pinned out the same or if the harness I’m using is not intended for the way I’m trying to use it.
The truck has a fog light indicator when they are on, so I think I’m just going to choose to not illuminate the switch for now and move on to stereo improvements

So, if I'm installing this in my 2023 SR which has auto headlamps, I should use 84140-0R010 not 020...right?

    Howdy

I have something way out of left field, and grabbed some quoted posts for pictures - since these now look different than I expected them to.

You know when you turn your signal on, then after turning the wheel, it turns it off? I want to get rid of that - I want it to stay on until I switch it off. Now that I know the signal stalk is way more involved than I thought it was, wanted to drop this question here to see if someone knows how to go about this. I'm assuming there's a tooth/pawl system somewhere, I just don't know where, and how easy it would be to get in there and kill it.

Super specific use case - this is my route to work, and going through this turn when I hit the left signal for this intersection, the way the road curves, it "self cancels" 3-4 times trying to take this left. I have to hold it down and I can feel plastic fighting plastic in there when I hold it down, fighting it trying to turn itself off.

If it's simple to kill the feature I'd do it, but if it's a science project, forget it.

Well, without getting off main topic of the Fog lights too much, there is a plug n play solution. Without removing the steering wheel and butchering the physical feature that cancels the selected signal, you could add an on/off switch for turn selection. Would that be desirable?

Did you ever figure out the issue? My setup is behaving the same way. I also used the caliraised harness and fog light switch. It doesn’t matter if the switch is on or off, as long as the low beams are on, the fogs come on. I’m thinking of disconnecting one of the grounds from the switch wire harness.

I adjusted my expectations and have given
Up for now on the switch illumination. I didn’t try using only one ground. I wired it from the suggestion in the post. And I tried a couple other wiring choices that made sense from my bench experiments. If we could find a schematic of the circuit inside that relates back to the pin outs, I could figure it out. I had it working with the wiring a little different on the bench, but that didn’t translate to success in the truck. From what I remember is that switch has one led always one (symbol I think ), another turns on when switch is active (FOG LIGHTS I think) . So inside conceptually would be a switch across one set of pins for the actual circuit in the truck to turn lights on, another switch across one led to illuminate when active, and an led across the whole circuit to always be lit .
I just haven’t figured the pins out.
Maybe, Cali switch is designed to be used a bit differently than the way we are using it. ( using , switched 12v , not body control module logic )
I know a switch is a switch, but this is a switch and an LED, so it’s possible that the led that lights up is fooling the computer to always remain lit, most likely were using the wrong pins for that particular switch.

I have a question, does the pcm/bcm recognize that the fog lights are on ?

As in if they are burnt out or not. Nope. By leaving the fog switch ON it shows that indication on Combination Meter after Tails are selected. When High beams are selected the Fogs On indication turns OFF.

So this would be the same for a 2023 sr ?

    Most likely...especially for an SR.

Just finished installing my fog light switch!

I have a 2022 SR SX and came pre-wired. Just had to get a fog light harness to connect the fog lights and a switch. Got a
    Cali Raised switch
    4443C7E7-6289-47A8-BCD9-E1AC60CD3D32.jpg
this is the layout for the wires. Green connects to the fog light wire(26). Red1 is a ground. Red2 connects to the deck lighting green wire. Black goes to the beige wire or to a ground.

Originally tapped the wrong wire but luckily was able to undo it. Took me a bit to figure everything out.

thanks you everyone on this thread. Been a great help
