Special order Tacomas?

Hey, All!
I'm looking into getting a new Tacoma 4x4 but I'd like a manual transmission, 4-door, long bed and Toyota doesn't offer that configuration online. Is it possible to order one directly from the factory?

No, Toyota doesn't build for customer spec, they build and customers wait for their allotment.

No such thing as DCLB manual since 2005. Just access cabs and double cab short box.

 

Call every dealer within distance you would drive and get on their lists. Many will demand non-refundable deposits ... avoid them. Few will act responsibly just because it is right. But until you ask you will not know who has been allocated (by the factory) something fitting your desire.

Toyota will shut down the line and build any configuration you can dream up. Even custom colors.
Takes about 2 weeks from order to delivery. Even quicker if you order on a Friday.

Unlike the big 3, Toyota doesn't do custom orders. That configuration isn't currently one they make.

 

Seen a few here but only in a sr5 I’m in south Florida. I was shocked to see the price of a sr5 long bed 4door 4x4 was the same price as the trd sport 4x4 in an access cab. They had a few at Deerfield beach Toyota

Sorry, no such thing as a factory order from Toyota. Their shit doesn't stink, so you will take what they give you at whatever price they want to charge, like it, and consider yourself fortunate to have the privilege of giving them your money.

 

Sr5 prices are ridiculous here in TX. I see Sr's and Sr5's in the high 30's and low 40's while a trd sport and offroads start in the low 40s.

 

Or you can buy a stinky shitty domestic product, still pay whatever they want to charge, be happily fortunate to pay them and have a truck that is unreliable and loses value as soon as it leaves the lot!The allotment you get is way better than the lipstick on a pig, Ranger, Colorado, or Jeep.

 

SR5's only sticker at $1700 less than the Off Road and Sport of the same configurations, you could easily exceed the difference with one or two options.

 

I thought this was just another BS post by someone trying to be funny. But I called and asked about custom ordering a Tacoma and it's true. They took down every detail and approved the build. I'm freaking out why didn't I ever ask before? My custom Tacoma TRD Off Road will have a V8, manual transmission, solid front axle, and driver's side grab handle.

Order was accepted and placed in Texas build queue on 4/1/2023

 

It's not the truck I'm knocking (notice what's sitting in my driveway ). It's the attitude Toyota and their dealerships seem to have adopted since Covid. Others have too, but Toyota seems to have take it to a new level.

 

The beauty of the SR5 is it comes with a real key.... not that push-button stuff. I went with the SR5 for that reason...

 

For 2023 they have PBS, so you did well choosing when you did.
