I think what they meant to say was despite Toyota claiming it cleans everything nicely, in the real world it doesn’t. So go buy a catch can. :boink:

I wouldn’t run my truck without one. I know some people say it’s not necessary, but to me it is. Plus at steep angles, it can buy you some time with the oil pooling in the heads.

I strongly recommend oil catch can been running one over a few years now and it's highly recommend from me . It definitely captures so much pass by . The contaminated liquid reaks of gas . Winter time looks like a mocha milkshake.

Pro tip: if you can’t find shop that will ship to you in CA, buy it off of eBay!

Yeah man, it was a fucking fight I had no choice over anything. I ended up with some nerve damage from the aggressive chemo, but fuck it. It doesn’t limit me in any way. Just weird when the funny bone hit don’t get a reaction, lol.

I still get a chance to roll in the Tacon tocayo! Thank you.

I can’t remember their name but when I was looking for a part for my intake they suggested eBay. Worked then and just worked for the catch can.

Found it. Credit goes to @AmateurTaco1313 for the excellent eBay idea.

I tried Amazon for the tube I needed but it didn’t work. Gave up after that. Good to know. I’ll check there next time just in case.

x2 fuk cancer. Glad you made your way through Topanga Taco!

I spent the past few years battling leukemia myself, and also have nerve damage from the chemo (can’t feel my left foot). Stay strong man!

During treatment I had a revolving door of buddies coming by to keep all the cars and motorcycles running!

Edit: Honestly, your friends say a lot about the person you are. I’m fortunate to have some great people supporting me and my family. Much love.

Jimmy, good to hear brother. Family and friends are first. It’s hard for one to do it alone. Stay strong man, you know the routine. Gotta do it for the loved ones!

    Exactly. Right back at you!

When I first started treatment someone told me,
‘Once you know WHY you have to live,
It won’t matter WHAT you have to do to live through it.

My kids were 3 and 5 when it started. I KNEW I was going to get it done.
Chemo, radiation, and a bone marrow transplant. I got ‘er done!
    3 years in April.

OP, apologies for derailing the thread. I don’t run a catch can on the Tacoma, but I have considered it!

Looking for recommendations for oil catch can off Amazon. I want to put oil catch can on passenger side valve cover. We have a vent tube on that side and I want to eliminate all oil vapors going into my intake. Help is much appreciated.

A bit off topic but does anyone know the max pitch angle one can go before the engine gets starved? And did Toyota ever make any changes to the engine over the years to prevent it?
