did it feel like it was misfiring or did it just randomly turn off? I ask because i was driving down the a fire service road just cruising then all of a sudden my engine turned off. I pulled over and tried to turn it on and it would just crank . Checked the efi fuse/efi fuse and what not but couldnt get it to fire. it would just crank.

Towed it home and i tried swapping around the relay for the C/OPN with the horn relay and it fired right up. Worth a try before you get too deep into things.

Did the fuel gauge show that there was gas in it when it ran out the first time?

At his point does the truck just crank?
Or does it start and then immediately die?

It cranks, doesn’t start. Today, sprayed starter fluid, it started then immediately died. Disconnected the fuel line, tried to start it and fuel did come out of the line. We have determined that the fuel pump is ok and the problem must be with the gas. Tomorrow, we will try to drain the tank and put fresh gas in it.

Yes, confirmed that there was water. Tried to drain the fuel but that didn’t work. Added fresh new gas and a bottle of “heet” because no one had any k100. Yay, it worked!

Congrats on doing your diag correctly, I would drive it locally till the low fuel light comes on then fill it up again along with some more additive just to make sure any water is flushed out.
