    Nascar is so full of shit. "We are wiling to race on a oval during rain". Now, oh shit we have to cancel qualifying due to weather. Stupid fucks.

    I had the same thought. Some were saying that they're willing to race with them, but the tires aren't fully tested yet on ovals so they didn't want to run them during practice or qualifying, which makes no sense to me.

    The only other thing I can think of is perhaps it was raining too hard.

    NASCAR are considering them "wet tires" for Oval short tracks. Some of my sources said the wont run them in the rain on short tracks but have them for situations where there track gets wet and time restraints won't leave enough time for drying the track completely.
    They still need to do more testing on the Ovals but it is hard to schedule that and get the weather to cooperate.
    It was definitely raining to hard this morning here and the lightning throw20230401_072611.jpg a monkey wrench in the plans as well.

    I'm guessing they don't want COTA repeats either.

    The main issue was visibility and lots of drivers were complaining about the wiper. Why do they rely on a single wiper in the center and not use at least one in front of the driver or have two like normal cars?

    I think it will work more for wet tracks... Not necessarily while its actually raining. I'm guessing that was the reasoning?!
