Finally got around to throwing some Dynamat down to quiet things a bit. Foam going over the top. Kind'uve a PITA, but if anyone's got recommendations of good things to do before I close everything up, please send them my way. Nice, OP!

Wish I had the patience for that type of work because I do appreciate a quiet cab. I only did the doors and back wall and it did make a difference. Jump into wife's Mercedes and the Tacoma feels like a tin can again.

Yeah ima do it another weekend. I didn't do any spray because of the mess so I got 1/2 inch thick Dynaliner. Maybe it will work similarly

Thanks man! Me too. Rig sounded like a bucket of bolts rolling around so I figured I'd do the whole thing. Doors were the most tedious part, the seats come out easy!

Yes it’s a bit of a PITA. Recommend butyl based deadening for over head installation.

    A few thoughts:
    - Don't seal off the rear wall vents. needed to equalize air pressure in the cabin.
    - But sealing around the outer edge of these vents isn't a bad idea. some have had water leaks.
    - when putting down the foam don't go too thick where plastic trim pieces clip in or you may find they won't clip in properly.
    - you can put sound deadening on the backside of the door and rear wall panels if you're careful not to interfere with the clip in locations.
    - I also put foam insulation on the factory rear wall insulation (that cheap 'curtain' along the rear wall)
    - if you don't have spare clips for the door and rear panels get some. these break easily.
    - the pool noodle mod helps with rear wall noise. some debate if this has long term negatives (paint abrasion, trapping water)

It took me about 4-5 days. One day to take it apart, a day to prep. The doors took forever used mass loaded vinyl for the vapor barrier. The headliners a task.

Good ideas. Most of the noise now is coming from the rear per my test drives

Nice job! I haven’t gone this far on my tacoma yet, just doors, rear floor/cab wall. I need to get around to doing the roof sometime too.
For the rear vents I usually used 1-2” thick upholstery foam to cover but still breathable on my previous trucks. Dampens sound but still let’s air flow slightly.

That’s a serious commitment! I bought some sound deadening material and am waiting for warmer weather to install it. Just planning to do the doors and back wall. Hopefully that’ll make a noticeable difference.
    Nice job OP!

I did my doors and a little of the floor after tubbing. Don’t think it made a difference other than the doors sound good closing now. Haha
