Today I was getting ready to hit a trail when I noticed a small puddle under my truck. Initially I thought it was transmission fluid but took a closer look and it was coolant. I immediately shut the truck off and began to look.

I took the intake manifold off and found very small puddles of coolant in the valley. I was even more stumped because I haven’t found a damn source to the problem.

I JUST did this. Need to pull your lower manifold off and replace the gaskets. Mine leaked from both those spots exactly. But I didn't have as much coolant there. Clean everything up before you pull it. You do not want water in there.

You don't have to pull the fuel rails. Just undo the backside attachments. Less you want to bathe the thing.

Photos of what mine looked like. Toast!

Need to pull your timing cover and front hose also. Drain your fluid first.

I have a vacuum leak at the intake manifold gasket.
Is there anything else I should consider replacing while I’m in there?

if you've not done any of your valve cover gaskets i would do ALL of those while you have it torn down that far and replace the bolts on the covers as well.

Do your knock sensor harness and re-seal the coolant crossover pipe. Good time to replace the 4 heater hoses up there as well (2 for IAC valve, 2 for heater core)

My valve cover gaskets are about 40,000 miles old and show no signs of leaks.
