Awesome! I actually found this by searching google for a tap or something. You did this and it worked fine? Have you safely used both at the same time?
    Thanks, you’re the man.

caribe makaira - what's this thing called? Just searching "terminal piggyback" didn't return what you're showing.

I’m going to try this soon. Thanks for that picture. Working under the assumption that one wire is ground and the other 12v I’ll take a non contact voltage tester to see if I can pick up the hot wire. I’m assuming purple is 12v and white ground. Hopefully it’s that easy and all I have to do is use t connectors, insulate then then I’ll be all done.

If anyone already knows which wire is which you could save me some time.

I’ll take pictures and make a write up if I’m successful.

i just did this last weekend i used a cigarette lighter removal tool ($10) which made my life a million times easier. and taped into the terminal with those piggyback connectors. worked well if you have any questions post pics and i can help! goodluck. i cant remember if the larger or smaller terminal is positive or negative, but you will have to grind one of the piggyback connectors width so it can fit into the female terminal on the cigarette housing. if i remember the bigger one was the ground and smaller was power but dont quote me. you can reverse polarity with the battery connected. didnt run into any issues personally

Could you post the link to the removal tool you used?

Not yet still piecing everything together but I’ll post it by the end of this weekend.

So far it’s pretty straightforward I removed the socket with that tool another person linked but you probably want to get a different one as I struggled a bit so look for one that’s specifically for Toyotas. I’m going to use piggy back terminals as another user suggested and insulate them as you have to face them in to fit through the hole (at least I think).

oh and I didn’t remove all the dash bezels to remove the socket. I just pryed the socket out with the tool unbolted the head unit and threaded the wires behind all that.

All I have left to do is add the piggyback connectors and put female terminals on the stealth port wires.

Honestly easier than I thought (at least so far) the hardest part is removing the 12v socket.

instead of unbolting the head unit. you can take the headunit faceplace off and if you pull down on the climate control you can squeeze past the head unit tab. so essentially you'll only have to remove the faceplace to the headunit and the a/c control/pushstart unit. then you can work from behind the cigarette outlet.

i actually had really goodluck with that tool. same as the link i sent. another part is the piggy back terminal is wider than the prongs sticking out of the cigarette. so youll have to finesse/fudge it back into place. i would test everything prior to putting everything together/ the piggyback terminal could come lose etc.
