Wanted some input on a situation.

Bought my 02 tacoma 4x4 with a brand new front end last June. It was hit on the left prior so it all was replaced; SPC control arm, oem lower control arm, Moog lower ball joint (bad I know), new sway bar links, cv axles, steering rack bushing. Had some recent knocking going on and thought maybe the Moogs LBJ were on their way out. Mechanic lifted and found everything, both upper & lower control arm bushings allowing excessive play and all ball joints moving around like it was as old as the truck. I was shocked and need some insight on what caused this within 6k miles. I only have a 1" spacer up front and drive this in the city & highway. What went wrong?

This is why I kept my original OEM control arm when I installed the SPCs.

Sadly I bought it this way and everything else was trashed. I prefer oem but hoped after market would of lasted more than a year...

My moog uca bushings are going on a couple years now, no issues.

how did they fail? Did the rubber come apart?

Its like the rubber has gone soft. I'm worried there's something within the entire system that has play and is causing extra stress on the front end. The differential bushing are shot (ordered some durobump replacements today) but could it cause the whole front end to break down?

Will be greasing all the ball joints and double checking torque on the control arms tomorrow morning. Can't say I'm confident replacing everything will fix the problem

mmm Unless the rubber is torn / physically failing, you might just be seeing "normal" play for rubber bushings. Rubber is obviously not solid, and will give a bit- that's a bushings job. How much is normal, is hard to say. Even poly moves some.
