Apologies if I'm out of the loop or if it was addressed elsewhere, but how are you going to power this? Are you getting a separate deep-dischargable battery, or is it for camping out with AC power hookups? I've never seen anything like this done and I'm intrigued. There have been times I could have used something like this.

Cute pics. I just installed a Pop&Lock lockable tailgate latch on mine. It's interesting that they call for a T35 bit to remove the plastic tailgate panel, which are sort of hard to find, and I found the T30 I had on hand worked fine. Guess I'm curious if you (your minions, rather) also used a T30, or a T35. Maybe the T35 is an ever-so-slightly snug fit. But with the low torque required I guess in the end it doesn't really matter (???).

 

What the hell happened here, if you don't mind my asking/(questioning?). Is that motor oil splattered everywhere? Failed gasket someplace, or....?

 

lol, nope that is Central Oregon mud, still all over the underside of my hood from blasting though mud holes last June I've never washed all that off. needs a pressure sprayer full of simple green and water and get the engine running good and hot and clean all that crap off.

 

Yeah we used the T30 as well. I also have the popNlock so I have removed the panel a few times. And the T30 always seems like the best choice.

I run dual batteries with an isolator. I also have a fixed 175w solar panel and an additional 200w of portable solar to charge the house battery when I’m parked.

 

Cleaned everything in the bed.

Sorted out a way to seal the tailgate gap finally.



And figured out how to run my DIY Trasharoo with the new seal.

thought about adding some Fastex buckles to my tail gate to quickly connect my trasharoo. but the long straps would then need to be wrangled too.

 

The way I designed this one is that the straps wrap around the tailgate and buckles to themselves.



There’s buckles at the top and bottom of the bag to connect it to the straps. I can easily remove just the bag if I needed. The bottom buckles also allow it to hang when the tailgate is open.

 

Installed Spiker hood struts. I don't know why I didn't do this the day I bought the truck!

For those doing the speaker install and thinking of the "Subaru tweeter mod"... I did this kit from Crutchfield and it worked great.

The speaker set is a kit with driver and tweeter. Front setup.
