    Hi gang.

I have a 2012 Tacoma TRD crew cab with the short box. I just put in a 3” Old Man Emu lift kit and high end spacers, and am kinda renovating it, replacing some worn mechanicals, etc. I hope to run this another 200k miles! I pull a true off-road camper and like to get truly off road.

The 16” OEM wheels are kinda beat, and I’m interested in replacing them. Curb appeal is ok, but I’m mostly interested performance and value. I expect to step up to 285’s.

Id love some ideas about possible new or used rims. Aluminum? Steel? 16”/17”? If you were gonna beat a like new 2012 TRD, what wheels would you choose?

    thanks

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
I'd go 17 inch x 8.5 with -10 or 0 for offset - more tire choice. For wheels - SCS are great or Methods 701 with the beadlock tech, Black Rhino, but try to keep the weight down.

    That’s awesome! Thanks so much

on the offsets….I have spacers installed now, with the OEM stock wheels. I assume the 0 offset is basically like stock. But for the -10 offset, does that imply I’d remove the spacers?

    thanks for the brand ideas.

I’ve always equated the Toyota brand with quality. Yet there seems to be a lot of Toyota branded wheels out there, for under $1200. There not the Toyota TRD “Styled” fake wheels, which are $700.

what’s your opinion of Toyota OEM TRD Pro wheels at $1k-$1.3k? To good to be true?

The oem wheels are more than likely +15 or +30 offset. If you run a wheel that has zero or -10 etc I wouldn’t run the wheel spacer.

Does the 8.5 imply 8.5” wide?

@JayTac it is best to find a wheel that achieves the look you want without having to use extra parts (spacers). A zero offset would be most typical for aftermarket.

No spacer and more poke. Method, Nomad, KMC, Fuel, Raceline to name a few. Hope this helps.
