For those doing the speaker install and thinking of the "Subaru tweeter mod"... I did this kit from Crutchfield and it worked great.

The speaker set is a kit with driver and tweeter. Front setup.

Not today but last Saturday:DEF980F4-AFAD-4902-B3B8-7715B7BACAE2.jpg B070F842-6299-49E4-AC7F-C190D6F8E901.jpg

Full brake job: rebuilt/painted my 13yr old calipers, new rotors, pads, fluid, etc. Checking on rears escalated into new axle seals (leaked and ruined my hardly worn brake shoes), bearings, and shoes. Drum brakes SUCK!!! No wonder my LR wheel was sticking sometimes. Upgrading to rear discs next chance I get!

Oh, and also changed my water pump (original lasted 220k miles), fan clutch and alternator. Took a fraction of the time it took dealing with the rear brake mess!

Finished painting my front driver and passenger door panels (all black no more two-tone) and installed them, then I installed one headlight before my uretal stent (5mm kidney stone) decided I was done for the day.

Nice choice! The tacoma I just bought secondhand had Wildpeaks installed and they're incredible.

@JimIowa fairly easy with that kit! If you can follow instructions, its straight forward. Nothing really hard to figure out! You can handle it! Edit: I will add, some people that are audiophiles think the highs are TOO high with these tweeters. If you havent changed your speakers and head unit out, start there and see what you think of the sound first.

Some of the 1st mods I make to every Tacoma are (1) Clazzio seat covers (2) Kicker door speakers and (3) Subaru door tweeters. You just don't realize how weak those stock non-JBL speakers are until you replace them. Whether you use Kicker, or any quality speaker brand, you are not getting quality sound with those stock speakers. Now that android head units have become so inexpensive there is no excuse for not upgrading your sound system. Now you can spend ~$350 to get sound that, not too long ago, would cost over $650.

Ugh! Kidney stones suck! I've passed two of them. Ridiculous amount of pain. After passing the second one kaiser wanted me to retrieve it from my own piss so they could see what it was made of. Yuck!

Oh yeah. Had them 3 times. First was too big to pass so they broke it up with ultrasound shocks. 2nd and 3rd passed without help. Every time I see someone driving a Jeep I tell my wife "I'd rather pass another kidney stone than own a Jeep". Kidney stone pain doesn't last as long as Jeep ownership pain.
Sorry if I offended any Jeep owners but, as you probably already know, the right mix of Demerol and liquor helps ease both of theses painful issues.

It's funny you mention that, I've passed a kidney stone in the backseat of my JKU and I agree. Fuck Wranglers.

No filter, glad I had a set of nitrile gloves handy.
The gall stone I have has been around for years. Every now and then it acts up, but not for long. Doctor won't take it out unless I'm in constant non stop pain.

if that ever happens again ask for a catch filter. basically looks like a coffee filter with a metal mesh to catch the stones. as for gall stones, i had them bad enough with the kidney stones the admitted me to a hospital for almost a week before cutting me open and removing my gallbladder. also, don't let them take that if you enjoy a good greasy hamburger.

Used that filter a couple of times. Last time 2 other guys heard it "tink" when it passed unfiltered in the urinal. Great conversation starter.

I'm there. Slightly different order as I added Clazzio seat covers after insulating the front doors and replacing the lightweight 6x9 speakers with a pair of Infinity speakers on ********* HDPE spacers. I may replace the tweeters but for now, the sound and FM reception are greatly improved. Crutchfield made my DIY removals and installs easy, especially their Ready Harness wiring service.
