    Hi,

Is it normal to have ANY noise coming from the transmission that goes away with the clutch pressed in? And subsequent less than 100 rpm change?

The noise I am having is very faint, had to specifically show the technician at the dealership.

I am aware that this is or could be the pilot bearing. But the technician is adamant that this is “normal”.

    Thanks.

Yep mine is noisy in cold weather been doing that from new. goes away after a bit. I don't believe the 6 speed has a pilot bearing.

I have been driving manuals for 40 plus years
All of them were noisy to some extent

Thanks guys. Good to know about the pilot bearing; input shaft bearing, maybe.

Certainly sounds like a throw out bearing to me. My 03 made a little bit of noise for the entire length of ownership, was always there but never got worse

This is my 4th manual. And I honestly just didn’t pay as close attention to them previously. Apparently I pay TOO close attention to it, now lol
