Yeah... everything went over the edge a few months after my 40th birthday when my spinal tumor caused paralysis. and now at 56, it just keeps getting "better and better" :annoyed::rofl:

I got this diagnosis about 5 or 6 years ago. I had tore the outer part 20 some years ago and had surgery. When I went back to the same surgeon for knee pain he told me this was on the inner part and that surgery won't help. It's bone on bone due to arthritis and trimming it will only result in continued tears as the bones rub against it. There is no way to fix it. He told me to live with it. Like you, he suggested a brace and shots if it gets too bad. I haven't done any shots. I do put some arthritis relief rub on it.

Well my nurse was a beautiful elderly woman who grew up near me in Detroit, same age as myself. Going to make breakfast, shredded wheat with bananas or strawberries. Might just get wild and crazy and have both. Got everything ready to head in the basement, it’s getting real sporty.IMG_0206.jpg

    Morning!!

I almost snorted my coffee out while reading this...."elderly woman same age as me" just wasn't prepared for it I guess. haha. This is why we all do labs first thing in the AM...to actually eat right after!

As for me, I dropped a wood beam on my foot and I think I fractured something. It wouldn't have happened, but my bad knee put me in a awkward position. So, the night swelling and pain just kept me up all night. Man....do we all start breaking down this phase in our lives? My knee and back are from military service injuries and when I was still a young man, but everything else is just falling apart now...smh

I know in my case excess weight doesn't help. I am 6'1" but weigh almost 260 pounds. the weight just won't come off and I do walk every day but the achy feet, knees and hips make me less willing. I still get 1 - 1 1/2 miles a day. Losing my appetite might help me lose weight. :anonymous:

Don’t know if you know/like Emmy Lou Harris, nurse could have been her twin. Told my wife that I had a crush on her after one of her shows. She wasn’t worried and laughed.

One of my favorite songs of hers is Red Dirt Girl, it brings a tear every time I listen to it.

Emmy lou comes to the VA region often, but I see she won't be here this year. She is 76 now I read on her bio. She is a good looking woman for sure...and not afraid to be herself.

    Good Morning Folks :hattip:

Thunderstorms last night, maybe a bit more today. Highs in the 60s. .
Today I go in for an Echocardogram. Then next week meet with doc. They want to get an echo every 6 months to monitor my heart valve.

I have had the same problem with my left knee for 2 years now. At the beginning the pain was the worst I've ever experienced. Doc said not much he can do and come back when knee starts popping or if pain persists. It's been doing good lately. Sometimes I need to take Ibuprofen.

Yep, mine is on the inside portion of the knee as well. I have tried Voltaren ointment, Blue Emu, Biofreeze.... none seem to have any effect on the pain. Neither does Tylenol. Based on the last 3 months, as long as it doesn't get any worse, I can deal with it. Not what I would call easily some days,, but it hasn't kept me from doing my normal things, driving my truck (I have a manual), etc.. Just maybe a bit slower and more cautious.

Fortunately I live in a state where cannabis is legal for medical/recreational use. See my neurologist on Friday, going to ask her about using it for pain. My liver and kidneys ain’t 29 anymore, need something that won’t be as hard on them.

My wife used cannabis (medicinal) back in CA for many years, due to her various medical issues. Of course we ended up moving to a state (KY) where it is still illegal for any purpose, and most of our surrounding states are the same. I personally have never tried it, though I have tried CBD gummies. Not sure they did much that I could tell.
