Very tough conversations/decisions to make! I feel for you both! Losing and making decisions about 'family' is never easy!

 

Saying goodbye to my (Bella) my Husky a few years back was one of the worst days ever, but having these guys in my life makes it easier. Best wishes - Hang in there.

Such a hard conversation to have. We have had that conversation twice over the last 4 years. Just know that no matter what, their love will never leave.

Relaxing in the yard!

 

I still remember as a kid when someone told me dogs don't go to heaven. I basically just said then ill go where they go.

 

Never been there “heaven “, that is. I’m praying they make the cut.

 

I’m sorry to hear that man. It is so hard, they can’t tell you themselves what they want and need. I took Lola in to see her vet about 4 weeks before actually having to put her down. I have really trusted them through everything, they helped a great deal with end of life planning and how to monitor what’s best for the dog. They gave me a questionnaire for how to monitor her quality of life, but it was really hard, she kept wagging her tail and was able to go for walks. She eventually refused food, which for a lab is about as obvious as it gets. That was it. I hope you and your spouse are able to find peace through the process. It’s so difficult, you love them and they love you and they don’t want to leave you because you have been such a great friend.

That was our philosophy as well, when we got Artie it seemed like Lola totally got a huge boost of energy, it seems to help the old dog and the older dog kind of shows the puppy the ropes.

 

Came back from a walk (70 and humid) and this is where she plopped after getting some water. Cold tile floor in front of the fan. Smart pup.

Remembering my best buddy Dexter, taken way too young 3 years today, miss you every day.x.

 

So sorry for your loss, it’d so hard when they have to leave… remember the good times.
It’s 3 years today since my Dexter had to leave and I still occasionally share a tear for him. I’m sure Dexter has already made friends with Lola

 

I guess the wall wouldn’t move out of the way for him when he rolled over

 

I wish dogs were in charge, the world would be much better off.
