The catch can will not pass smog in CA. But buying one should not be an issue because you can install one legally on a car exempt from smog. That being said, my truck has passed smog three times now with the can installed and it has passed. Its the visual inspection that will fail it but most techs don't look for it, evidently.
I over payed for mine but dont regret it one bit.

Where’s that crap go? Burned off in the exhaust? If you don’t have one.

Back into the intake to be “burned off”.

I don’t wheel my vehicle in 45° angles or greater like some guys who were blowing up their motors, but I wanted the assurance.
With that amount collecting within 400 miles, I’m sold.

Im using this on my drivers side. But I can’t see why you wouldn’t be able to use it on the passenger

Are you trying to mount it on the passenger side or just get the passenger side hose that goes into the intake right before the throttle body? If it’s the latter the JLT one does that. You can probably mount it wherever. But it’s made for mounting on the driver side.

If you are trying to catch a different hose there’s only one kit that does both. But I’m still not convinced you need both especially for the price.

Fun fact - JLT won’t sell you one if you live in CA. I ended up using eBay to get it since they don’t seem to care.

But yeah you won’t pass smog with it. Which is dumb because I’d argue this leads to less emissions.

Haha I just revisited that thread and seen you asked for an update regarding that second can.
I agree, that kit is hella pricey. Interested to know as well if it caught anything

The passenger side valve cover vent , doesn't really vent too much . Didn't wanna spend that coin . I do have it on the driver's side though. Great product.

Don’t cut the oem hose. Just remove it and get you some 3/8” Id vacuum line hose from the parts store.

if you care about the life of your engine and reliability of your engine and , no not on the ground have it properly disposed of with your used engine oil like i do . I take it to oil recycle drop off . so again no not on the ground and your engine will thank you . The way they think that putting crank case venting back into the engine to burn off it is the worst idea engineers came up with. With my experience doing wrenching on my own vehicles, mainly toyotas. I have seen the inside the intake manifold of my two 3rd gen toyota pickups. They were so bad inside , like the build up was terrible. No wonder they had poor performance. When i got my 3rd gen tacoma i made damn sure not to let this happen to a brand new truck. Thanks epa for trying to kill my motor . This is why im thankful for oil catch cans. WORTH EVERY PENNY, especially the life of my motor .

We can put jugs of oil out with our garbage, and it gets picked up for free.
