    My parts diagrams doesn’t show the latch as a separate piece.
    But the piece is called a lock catch.

    You might be better off looking at generic rear window latches on Amazon.
    See what you can come up with.

    Mine broke years ago. At the time a replacement piece was not available. My cheap fix was to cut an aluminum rod to length to keep the window from sliding open. I think it’s a 3/8th inch diameter, and I capped the ends with nylon plugs. I still have this setup and it’s become a permanent fix.

    I still don’t think there is a fix. I haven’t been able to find anything.

    @Chuy

    is it glued in place so the latch can catch it ?

    ot are you using it as a rod like People do on home windows to keep out burglars?

    can you share a picture ?

    Can someone share a picture of what a non broken one looks like? This truck is new to me so I don’t even know what a non broken one looks like.

    Ys, my setup is similar to putting a rod on a sliding glass door. I saw a possible fix here on TW. There is a thread on installing an actuator to open the window by wire. I saw it as not worth the effort. You may think otherwise. Use search tool to find the thread.

    Notice the gap at the end of the rod, you need that to be able to stick your finger in there to pull out the rod, unless you devise some other way of removing it.

    @Chuy

    got it. Thanks. Your fix is good for me. I’m gonna scout some junk yards to see if I can find that piece though.

    How is there no replacement part for this. Mine just disappeared. One day it was there, then one day it was gone. And I wasn’t broken into…

    The spring loaded part on the sliding door itself is two parts on mine, a male and a female part. The part that is glued to the window, the female part is still there. I’m beginning a hunt to find the missing portion from a similar Tacoma or another vehicle entirely that will fit within the remaining one. A dowel will work for now.
