Good morning everyone!

 

Morning all

 

If you have any spare time, I have a little tree work to get done. Wife doesn’t want me to use the chainsaw just yet. Nice work by the way.

 

I won't be doing much outside this morning, looks like it's rained a good bit and parts of the yard has water standing in it.

 

You know where Sand Mountain is? I have/had kin there.

 

Every time I look at bacon, I see my cardiologist sitting on my shoulder. LOL Come on Sunday morning, mmmmmmm

 

Seen her live with John Prine an awhile ago, had tears in my eyes for half the show. Most were from laughing. John had the gift of making you laugh and cry in the same song.

 

Love that song, it brings out my roots, just love her voice.

 

I live on part of Sand mountain, what area were they at?

 

Can’t remember exactly, been almost 60 years since I was there. Just know it was stripped mined and isn’t there anymore. Coal came right out of the ground, dad took me to a cave where he and his buddies carved their initials in the walls in the 1930’s.

 

Here we call Sand mountain pretty much everything to the north of Guntersville, so it could be anywhere around me .

 

Listen to “In Spite of Ourselves “, makes me laugh. Sam Stone is an old one of Johns, still relevant today as it was in the 70’s, just make sure you have a box of Kleenex.

 

Yep that’s the town that he grew up near, told me he saw a first car in the mid 20’s. Know any Cox’s, Nixon’s
Nixon Chapel, that’s where the farm was.

 

Since I got chickens, I've been eating sooooo many more eggs and bacon too, that I'm a little scared of what my Dr is going to say at my checkup next week.
