I currently have 3rd gen shocks and coils on my sport. I wanting to put 3rd gen OR leafs with aal to get a softer ride. I supposedly gain 1” in front will the or leafs add any clearance in back? I would like to put taller skinny tires on. Tia

What taller skinnier tires are you planning to go with? Don't quote me on it, but I'm not sure if the 3rd gen leaf springs are A) worth it, and B) give any lift to a 2nd gen. Maybe fix your current sag since they're newer, but I wasn't aware that they're any better.

I am at 193k and shackles are squeaking and pads are gone . I would like to put the tallest tire I can. I don’t off road per se but drive state logging roads here in Missouri. The old back is bad so I’m looking for a little softer ride and taller tires would just be a plus.

3G leafs will not give you a softer ride and they will not lift the rear compared to your stock 2G leafs. Of course, if you throw an AAL on there then that will give you some lift - but it won't be softer than the leaf pack was without the AAL.

That said, your original leafs may be a bit tired so switching to the 3G leafs isn't a bad idea. But other than an angled shim they're functionally identical to your 2G leafs. I've got 3G leafs + Headstrong AAL on my truck and it's been a great setup. But I got a deal on some Icon RXT so those will be going on to replace them as soon as I can find time to do the install.
