Frozen RSI locks in the wild!

Luckily I have another day for these to defrost before I need to open everything up and load luggage to head back down the mountain!

If only the new latches were out and RSI didn't have a nearly 2 year delay on them.

Man I hope they release new shipments soon. I've been on a waiting list for 2 months. RSI website says new orders for 3rd gen Tacoma 6ft will be out in May...

I totally understand, Smartcap stopped producing Tacoma caps in South Africa a little before then thinking the North America plant would be pumping them out by the thousands come January. However after various setbacks, finished caps are be packaged this week. Thanks for checking out the site.

Which molle panel backing plates is everyone using? Without breaking the bank.

I requested and update on the latches if anyone is curious here is what I received.

"Information is still lacking on these. A launch date, cost all this info which I have been requesting has not been shared as yet. Design have been tweaking a couple aspects of the latches which has resulted in further delays.

As soon as I know anything viable, I will reach out to all my waiting customers with an update." - RSI Support

I'd be curious about this as well. I don't have a specific application in mind, but I would like to take advantage of the molle panels on my EvoA beyond the MyMedic kit strapped in there now. On a related note, does anyone else feel like the molle panels on the EvoA wing doors are oriented 90 degrees off? Any pouches (including my first aid kit) I add to the panels need be oriented sideways for the match the strap spacing on the molle pouch. I recognize that I would need to use zippered or otherwise closed off pouches to keep the contents from spilling while the doors are open, but that's kind of the case for a horizontal pouch anyway. Maybe my newness to molle systems is just blinding me to how to use these best.

FWIW (and please be sure to verify yourself) - I have a RSI Adventure on order (5' Taco) with expected delivery by mid May. This week was told RSI is still having issues with the locks/latching in freezing weather. While they have made some improvements, they aren't perfect.

I'm interpreting that as one may still have to swap out latches later.

Again - this is my personal view, insert all non-binding free from lawsuit disclaimers...

Can't wait for mine to arrive, but am counting on RSI's promise (from youtube video uploaded in early 2022) that by year end (2022) the cap can be latched from the inside as well as the outside. Will report back.
