I mean, Carvana is going bankrupt, so that should tell you how poor their business practices are. Its a Massachusetts truck which means lots of salt for 8 years. That should plummet the price right there.

Yea I get it. My truck is from the West Coast. I just moved to Ohio 1.5 years ago. Haven't given the terrible salt around here a chance to set in. Fluid filmed the shit outta the under body last winter. I would never buy a car from Carvana. However if they wanna give me a decent price for mine I may take them up on it.

    @TexasWhiteIce

Dear Sir; I know you're joshin' with the 'FreshPots' above there, but he's an Ohioan, and you mention a Massachusetts truck, which is the one I'm seeking advice on.

So may I remind you that I had a moving blanket with me that I was able to get under the truck and look yesterday? It's damn nice for a snow belt vehicle. This is a ONE owner vehicle and it had to be a middle age person\couple with NO children b\c there just isn't interior wear. What is a one owner vehicle worth to you?

AND I forgot to add this information from a CarFax report: New Front Brake Job by Dealer - Brake Lines Bled - by Dealer, New Battery by Dealer.

Just feels too high to me. What does private party look like around you?
I’d like that year and mileage closer to 25k or I’d go newer for a few k more, personally.

I loved Oregon, but I want to buy a house. A starter home out there is like 300k. And the states on fire every summer. It was time for a change. Akron area is pretty cool. Tons of breweries. Cheap as fuck houses. Tons of jobs. Got out of my HVAC tech realm and into the world of Building Automated Controls. It's been a good change. But everyone also asks that question lol

Carfax means nothing. I’ve seen people total their vehicles and buy them back from the insurance company, and nothing shows up on the Carfax.

I mean, it’s your money at the end of the day, so definitely pay what your willing to. For me, I wouldn’t want to be 2 years from now and regret overpaying for a truck that has issues. And visual inspection of the frame means nothing. If you know anything about these trucks they are notorious for frame rot in those areas of the country even with “fluid film.” And that’s if that previous owner religiously did it. You can easily hide the visual part of frame rot.

Sounds to be like you’ve already made up your mind and are willing to overpay for the truck regardless.

Well, the first dealer was intractable and their salesman a bit of an a** to boot. Something was not 'right' about going forward, so I didn't.

What I did do was drive to another town where a actual Toyota dealer had a 2015 Toyota Tacoma 4WD TRD Sport for thousands less. Pennsylvanian truck, but I promise you I threw down the moving blanket and looked the frame over with a flashlight on this one also. I'm a happy Toyota owner, and I look forward to fun in the truck and participating with you all in the forum.
Thank you to all the people who helped.

NICE! Congrats on the truck. Your diligence and research will definitely give you piece of mind. As long as you’re happy. Hope it brings years of enjoyment.

March 2020, I could have bought that truck in the same color, but TRD OffRoad. It was a Florida truck, frame and everything looked brand new. Headlights were just starting to get a little faded from the UV.
$22,000 with 70k miles at the local Dodge dealer that mostly sells Promaster vans.

During the peak of used car prices in late 2020, I bought my 2015 TRD OffRoad, 59k miles, with TRD supercharger and a long list of upgrades for similar to the price of the truck you're looking at. I'd say it's overpriced. It will likely still sell though.

Congrats on finding a better deal.

I heard they make a lot of it south of the border, just make sure it's organic.
