I was on the highway coming up on a vehicle . I thought it was getting to close so i disengaged the cruise all together . Then I tapped my brakes and the front of the truck shook violently back and forth . I immediately took my foot off and it went back to normal . I tried to touch the brake a few more times . I was getting close to the turn home . I wasn't sure what the hell I was going to do to slow down safely . Well after a few clicks I tried it again and thank God it was working . The next day I called Toyota and told them about it . I brought it in and they couldn't find anything wrong . So I just don't use cruise control at all . In fact I am think of selling it . I bought it new thinking it would be really safe for my family and I . Know I am wondering . Thanks for listening . PCMike

Sounds like the shake has nothing to do w the cruise and more like warped rotors.

Chew I really appreciate your quick reply . Another friend suggested that . Toyota said they checked that , I have driven the truck a lot of miles since then and the brakes are always fine . I know it is a weird thing the front wheels just went left to right violently and then a few clics on it was fine . Its a strange one . Thanks again

On my 19 my cruise control works perfect no issues used it to drive half way across the country and back no issues. Never really need to touch the brakes everything you need to adjust is on the steering wheel. Only used the brakes if an accident was imminent if I thought I was catching up to quickly on someone just adjust the speed or the distance. If I used the brakes it turned my cruise off strange that your steering was involved since it’s not part of the system on mine? Curious to see what your issue might be good luck.
