I have a quiet ticking sound coming from what seems to be the driver side of the engine bay on my 2004 tacoma 3.4l. It seems to start only after the car is warm and doesn’t increase in volume or frequency when I rev the engine. It stops sometimes if I turn the car off and on. Just wondering what might be causing this and if it’s something to be concerned about.

the EVAP purge valve will make a consistent tick when its operating and is located on the driver side of the engine

I never noticed this tick until I read a thread about it on TW a few years ago. Now I can hear it in my sleep.:violent:

Yeah it's the evap thingy. Also maybe the EGR thing. You can put your ear close-ish to it and really hear it
