Can I swap front end and rear end differentials, axles and wheels from a 2000 ext cab into my 96?

    Yes. Both are 4wd, both manual.

    I should add, the 96 has 3.58s, and it is too weak. The 2000 has 4.30s. Both are 2.7l 4 cyl.

    I *think* the only difference you'll find are the rear leaf springs. They moved the hangers. So you should be ok if you don't try to swap those. You're just thinking the whole rear axle housing, front diff + stub shaft + CVs? I don't see why that wouldn't work as long as they are both manual hubs or ADD..

    Yes, parts are interchangeable, as stated above, only difference is rear leaf springs which sound like you aren’t swapping

    There were two styles of e-brake cables on the rears. One over the spring and one under. There has been no definitive year/model application other than the "under" spring set up seems to be found on the later years. Should be no big deal to swap if needed, just something to be aware of at the planning stage.

    I am 99.85% sure it's 2003.5-2004 in conjunction with the updated throttle body.
