New, almost an owner, of a black '23 OR. Just got home from the dealership where I gave my info, first born, and my eternal soul for this truck. Looking forward to learning from the experienced folks here.

Welcome to TW. Did he by chance give you a Vin on your purchase? You might ask him if he actually has one allocated to him. A lot of guys will put down a deposit. Then wait 3 months only to learn he had no allocation and then you basically waited 3 months for nothing. I'm not trying to be negative, just looking out for you.

I lost my 22 RAV4 TRD at 23:30 Feb 27 (Mon night). Claimed first thing Tues morning, and started searching for a replacement just in case in couldn't be fixed. Found a crush blue OR in Simcoe. Recieved my rental Wednesday, and was out in Simcoe on the Thurs and Wayne took a deposit. After waiting for 4 weeks, I let Wayne know the car was FINALLY at the body shop. Unfortunately Wayne said he couldn't wait any longer and had to repost. Sucks but I totally get it. FINALLY got notice that they are not going to repair, and called Wayne back only to find out it's been sold. Started searching, again Wednesday April 5, and found a black OR in Ancaster, but the pic was a stock SR5 model, but looking further it said it was the OR model. Called Wed, April 5 at 18:30 and confirmed that it is indeed a 23, TRD OR. Thurs went up and took it for a drive, then signed the papers. It was ordered and the original buyer had to back out.
Yes, most dealers are saying it will be weeks/months before they have any, and most are pre-sold.
Shout out to Simcoe and Ancaster Toyota for being a pleasure to deal with. No thanks to some others lol.
I figure this will be one of the last times I will be able to get a proper engine and a truck, and we only live once right?
Still waiting to hear from insurance...
