ICON Coil Overs , Upper control Arms , Rear Shocks . Method 703s 17" with BFG 285/70/17s.
I had my CV axles rebuilt due to a clanking , knocking and grinding noise from my front end.
The noise still there , but not as severe as before the rebuilt CVs, but still... It occurs at slow speeds, when braking and turning.
I returned to the shop that rebuilt the CVs and they couldn't fix the problem. I had it diagnosed by the dealer, they put it up on a rack and said the CVs had excessive movement and wants to replace them. Dealer also stated my front upper and lower shock mounts were loose. Dealer stated it safe to drive but will be noisy.
I contacted the shop about the CV rebuild and they claim it's not the rebuilt CV axles.
So, I signed on board to TacomaWorld to see if anyone could provide any insight input or solution to resolve this issue.

    Thanks
    JJD

Did you tighten the loose shocks?
Lift? Pictures of CV angle? In 2wd or 4wd? The noise is there straight line braking?

    Where is the excessive movement?
At the differential or in the actual CV joints?

NAPA CVs are cheap and halfway decent.
Not as good as OE, but worth the money if you’re looking for a budget CV

    Thanks for your quick reply.
I have not tightened the shocks. Is. the movement normal when on a rack?
I have an ICON Coil overs in the front.
No PICS of CV angle. Is that a factor?
This has occurred in 2WD and in straight line braking.
I'm experiencing technical difficulties with uploading PICs and VIDs.

I had my OEM CVs rebuilt.
