    Great 1911! Love the grips!

Dan Wesson makes very nice 1911s. I was on the fence between a DW and the TRP operator(.45). Ended up with the TRP but always wonder if I should have sucked it up and paid a few hundred more for a DW.
Still, the TRP is a great 1911!

yeah all this BS lit a fire under my ass to finally join GOA. Hopefully they’ll keep fighting the good fight like they are in Harney County.

Also hoping OFF stays out of it and leaves the litigation to the pros because their rhetoric doesn’t paint a good picture of gun owners to the Antis. Their attempt with 114 was a total shitshow and an embarrassment.

What is happening in Oregon and Washington is just messed up. Not just 2A about across the board. The legislative sessions have been awful anyone other than criminals, murderers and social net recipients.

Nah, not really. Seems pretty comprehensive. This doesn't have much affect on hunting rifles, correct?

It has a major effect on hunting rifles!!
Not to mention it violates the Constitution

Full disclosure, I have read the bill but am also not up on the several gun types. Most hunting rifles are not semi-auto right? Anything single shot, less some accessories might be ok? I own guns, for what it's worth, and have some die hard buddies that also own guns. For the most part, we're struggling to see the impacts on this bill to folks that truly use their guns for hunting. I really don't want to continue to see people die.

Also, sorry, but miss me on the constitutional violations. That was written a long time ago and the notion that we shouldn't look to update it with our changing society is bananas. We've made plenty of amendments to it.

Going to disagree with you there.
No one wants to see people die and the assumption that the second amendment allows people to die is absurd. If you look at the CDC statistics for Washington. Murder isn’t in the top 10 reasons a person dies. Accidents and suicide are, which banning a semi auto rifle won’t solve either problem.
It isn’t a ban on Assault weapons, it is a ban on semi auto firearms and from what I recall, the capacity of the clip(as stated in parts of the bill) doesn’t come into play. So a rifle like the Remington R-25 would be banned. Im not a lawyer, but it’s possible it even bans the browning BAR, which is a very common hunting rifle.
I’m scrabbling between the Washington Laws and Oregon laws currently, so it’s possible I’ve miss spoken on a few things. But that is my quick take.

edit: pretty confident the BAR would no longer be legal since the new model has a threaded barrel and of course they are semi auto.

I know I know, I am very much in the minority in this forum, but we can't keep doing nothing right?

Edit: I'm also very open to hearing sides of this. I'm not head in the sand type of dude. My logic goes to other countries that don't have this problem. How can we enact similar measures and keep our foundation?

We also can’t do stupid stuff that won’t solve anything. Right?
CNN actually published an interesting article today about something that actually does make sense. People have not been trained how to handle difficulties in life. A school study gave a boy a ball and told the other boy to get the ball from the boy who had it. They ended up wrestling to get the ball. They switched rolls and had the same result. The tester asked them why they didn’t just ask for the ball. They thought the person with the ball would think they were a sissy. The person who had it was like no, it’s a stupid ball, I would have given it to you.
We need to teach people to disagree cordially it kill each other because you have different view points or something someone wants.

One possible difference from other countries could be this?:
Almost a quarter of U.S. children under the age of 18 live with one parent and no other adults (23%), more than three times the share of children around the world who do so (7%).

While U.S. children are more likely than children elsewhere to live in single-parent households, they’re much less likely to live in extended families. In the U.S., 8% of children live with relatives such as aunts and grandparents, compared with 38% of children globally.

further, it comes down to training in other countries, along with mandatory military service and gun ownership.

Second amendment wasn’t written for going hunting it’s written to prevent tyranny. Think about it. It’s not about saving lives.

Because the California AWB has been sooooooo effective at reducing gun crime… o_Oo_O

It’s all virtue signaling so politicians can say they did something without actually fixing anything.

The ‘94 federal AWB sure didn’t stop columbine.

    Truth!
plus, we ignore that an AR style rifle isn’t an offensive tool, it is a tool for survival and defense. It’s already illegal to murder people, take firearms to school, or threaten people with them. It’s criminals who don’t care about laws(like the new one in Wa) that are murdering people.
I know this is a typical NRA response, but that doesn’t make it wrong. Making laws won’t stop murderers from murdering. If it did, then we already would have solved it with existing laws.

Anyone interested in a Ballistic Advantage 18in .223 Wylde Stainless fluted barrel for their last minute panic build? Brand new in the packaging, I bought it thinking I was going to replace one on a current rifle but changed my mind. I paid $200 for it so I'd just hope to get my money back

there is a PNW Hunting thread here https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/pnw-hunting-thread.622420/

So far it's been ok to discuss freedom in this thread. Would be cool to not attract attention of the mods.
