Looking to swap the gauge cluster in my 05 SR5 4.0 as it is damaged and wondering if a cluster out of a 06 4.0 SR5 will work. Thanks

That was my concern... I was hoping that wouldn't be a problem as it is digital...

Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
Yup, this is how they trick people and sell them a 200k miles truck with 89k miles. But yeah direct plug n play.

I am not sure if you can swap out the ODO circuit board @Dm93

Would the mileage be stored in the ECU? I was hoping I could just unplug the old on and plug the new one in

Clusters from 05-11 I believe are the same as long as you match the engine/transmission.

Yes you can swap the ROM chip that stores mileage but it requires component level soldering skills.

Mileage is stored in the cluster on 2nd gens.

Oh ok. I'm probably better off trying to repair mine then... The temperature gauge has a circuit error somewhere in the cluster so its all out of wack and it's throwing a p0117 code. Unless I should just leave it?

The cluster wouldn't cause the the PCM to set coolant temp sensor codes, the PCM reports temperature to the cluster not the other way around.

I'm not sure how the clusters are set up but it may be possible to swap the whole speedometer/odometer module easily, can't say for sure though as I've never had one apart.

The gauge has slowly creep it way down and now hits on the fuel gauge. It will also move at random times simply when I open the door not when I turn the ignition. Making me think its something in the cluster... How this all started is I had to take the cluster apart as the bulb that illuminates the fuel gauge had burnt out. Idk if it's just a coincidence or what but when I plugged the cluster back in the temperature gauge started doing what its doing now.

Definitely sounds like the cluster is having problems but I have doubts it's causing the P0117 code in the PCM.

    It was working.
    I did something.
    Now it isn't working.

    Revisit what you did.

Sounds like a pushed pin or a poor connection on the cluster plug(s). ( interpret this as a loose connection )
