That Camry probably still runs better than 90% of new cars they produce.

    Best cars ever made.

Ysterday I saw two Solara convertibles back to back. I think those are from the following generation.

Camry is a ‘98 with about 140k on the clock I believe. It was my late grandmother’s car. She babied it it’s whole life. She only really ever drove it to church, grocery store and her retirement club meetings. She was afraid to drive on any highways, so it never really went above 45mph. I inherited it about 8 years ago when she was no longer able to drive and try to take the best care of it. It’s my daily driver to and from work… Carroll to Frederick Co, about 1.5 hours round trip. That little 2.2L 4 cylinder doesn’t have much power but gets great gas mileage! Burns about 3/4 a tank in n a week. Hopefully it’ll run another 15 years!! Taco comes out to play on the weekends. That’s a ‘20 with only 17k on the clock!

The last time I had a loaner car from my mechanic, it was a Camry that was close to the same model year if not actually a 99.

It had just rolled 200K and man that thing drove like a dream. I only had it for a day but I wouldn’t think twice about buying a used one if I had the need for a smaller daily driver. I really enjoyed driving it.

My Mom has a 2021? 2022? Camry and that thing is nice. Drives nice and smooth, has leather interior, climate controls for both side, the whole nine. Already has about 45K miles on it and she bought it new. They do a lot of driving in that thing. Hopefully this one will last as long as the old ones, 300K plus.

My Dad has an 03 3.4L 4WD. Popped his hood to find a squirrel's nest. The squirrel ate through some wiring, the top of his clutch/slave cylinder and a vacuum hose.

Cut the vacuum hose and reattached it to the valve, so that problem has been eliminated. I ordered him a new slave cylinder for his clutch from RockAuto (Aisin of course) and that's scheduled to arrive soon.

As far as the wiring is concerned, I have no idea what that's to. He's set on getting some wiring and repairing it that way, but I suggested possibly just getting a new wiring harness altogether and just plug and play. Thoughts? I haven't looked too deep into what that wiring harness goes to, but it appears that it goes to either his purge valve or VSV. The opposite end attaches to somewhere behind the engine.

Any input or direction is helpful and appreciated.
