I have a 2023 TRD Pro with 2K miles on it and I appear to have picked up a nail on the rear driver’s side tire. Was wondering if Toyota furnished any road hazard coverage on a new vehicle. As it is, I’m not anxious to have anyone touch my tire and rim — just something more for someone careless to damage.

No, the tire would likely be covered by the tire manufacturer but not Toyota. The tire warranty information should be in your glove box.

There's no free tire road hazard that comes with the truck. Have it patched. Your wheels will be fine. It's a Tacoma not a Ferrari.

Extended warranty plans usually cover punctures. Otherwise no.

Plug it and drive it cause you ain't gonna get a new tire under any warranty unless it specifies that it is puncture free or 6 ply tire maybe of which is not with original tires that Toyota put on the new trucks. just saying.

Little known fact you can buy Road Hazard from Discount Tires on your new vehicle tires (not purchased from Discount). I did this with my C8 after I got a unrepairable nail in the corner with about 2K miles on it. I was getting road hazard on the new tire when the guy offered to put it on the rest of the tires.

Never plug, always patch a tire.

    Good Luck

I got 5 flats between all 4 of my OEM Goodyear tires within 2 years of ownership. I had to pay out of pocket for each of them to be patched. After the 5th flat, I upgraded to other tires, and have never had a single issue since.
