Just received my shields today. The inclosed card says "fits 2014-2023 4RUNNER" I'm wondering if I have the wrong shields or are they the same for the 4Runner as the Tacoma.

 

I also had the 4Runner card in my box. Everything bolted up fine from what i could tell.

 

Rent one Home Depot. Buy it. Barbour freight

 

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one trippin on that lol. I thought they gave me the wrong shields but it fit on my 23 Tacoma!

I believe I just got the V2.1 version and installed them, seemed ok, few fit issues but nothing difficult.
First was the driver side cross bar seems to hit the shield making the security bolts tight to install near the front


Second the passenger side seems to have a gap at the crossmember, anyone else have this?..


I also have about 3/16” to 1/4” for the driveshaft space, I rotated the shaft and it seems to be ok, no contact.
I’m happy with the shields, good quality.

 

Been following this thread trying to figure out if I want CaliRaised or something else for a Cat Shield. Looks like CaliRaised is doing its part to get y'all sorted out so ill wait it out a bit

 

I believe in my honest opinion you got the V2, looking at the bends. The V2.1 are 3/16 more straight plus at the end you should have a1/2 inch more of space . Just my opinion no expert here. I had the V2 which didn’t fit and then the V2.1.

 

Bad guys are not going to wait. Go with whatever company fits your budget, but we do live in a crazy world. CaliRaised so far has stepped up their game. Just saying lol.

I could... but based on @CaliRaisedLed's advice, that 9mm clearance is good, I think I'm going to leave it alone.

Took it for an 1.5 hour trip yesterday, some freeway, some twisty, turny streets and engaged 4WD a couple of times. No noise, no issues. Probably won't ever do any serious off road so I think I'm good!

 

Same here, took it for a spin, went off road on 4X4 for a short ride and didn’t have any issues. So far so good.

 

Does v1 work for anyone? I get that if someone didn't have any issue they probably haven't posted.

 

Yes, V1 worked for some. Especially when they added washers for spacers on the security screws. I wish you were closer, I'd give you my drivers side V1 and passenger V2.1. I'm keeping V1 passenger side on since it works fine. My V2 is already spoken for by a manual transmission guy who is going to try to modify it to fit. Maybe someone on here who is near you who got replacements might be willing to give you their V1.

I have V1 both sides, hadn't got around to install before this thread went wild. But going a different route and going to offload just trying to figure what to tell the next guy

 

If you contact @CaliRaisedLed I'm sure they'd take care of you - send you a set of the v.2.1. But understood if you're going a different direction.

Yes, there are folks here and per @CenCal805 I'm sure there are others that have never been here, that are completely happy with the V1's. My driver side never rattled, but it did snug up onto the cat and that was the big issue for me. That might not have been a long-term problem, but avoiding having to replace expensive cats was the whole idea. The v1 passenger side fits great. Very happy with their service and support as well as the final product now.
