Yes! Got the Sato rod from Tenkara USA with a furled line. I've been picking up flies based on the type of fishing I'll be doing also. Already spent like $200 in flies. lol. Anyway, I'm going to do a little practicing in the yard and then pull the kayak out for some fishing. Not sure how well I can handle this on the streams with trees and such. I've been working the shad run here for now (catfish and crab bait) and will be hitting the crappie also. So much to look forward to this year. I've made fishing a priority!

I'm looking forward to it! I've been kinda doing the technique with my spinning set up anyway so I figure....let's jump in head first!

Might as well go ahead and get a fly tying setup. Best thing I ever did and can make anything you want vs what the shop happens to stock.

if you don’t have the time or ability (like me) to tie your own, I’d recommend Big Y fly company to buy flies online. They are 1/4 to 1/3 the price of flies coming from orvis or another regular fly shop.

I never have but I have been wanting to try. I have bats behind my house and I have wanted to cut the hook off a fly and see if I could snag one.

My brother was using my fly rig at dusk. A bat bit the fly and the fun began. FB_IMG_1587100585981.jpg

You can also check out Venture Fly Co on Amazon, they sell bakers dozens for around $15 and have some quality flies for sure.
