what about this 8 pin connector. Can’t find where to plug this

 

Exactly, see my expanded explanation above. Red is +12v to germes, black is ground, that's how the Germes gets power. Cut that part off the germes side and source power from poutlet1 or add a fuse or the remote output on the pioneer (which requires the pioneer to be on in order for the front camera to work which is a little bit of a bummer if you ever roll with pioneer off, though I don't think I ever turn mine off, I just mute it).

I have a fuse block under my cupholders so my germes is wired to that but you can source anything that is ignition switched and be good to go. You could also get a T for the 10 pin connector as that has power and ground for the radio, if one is readily available to source and you want it totally plug and play. I was thinking of building something like that, power ground, accessory, since I might use it in my '05 and '02 for power to the gentex mirror (as that wants both constant power and ignition power). But for 2020+ the 10 pin is gone (I believe) so that took the wind out of my sails for considering doing a legit item for this. Also the connectors I have don't work clean with the '02/'05 connectors as there are some very tiny differences between 090 and 090II unsealed so I think I need to use 090 for max compatibility and I really hate the 090 connector color, it's hazy yellow.

Long story short, I haven't solved for ignition switched power in the cab the easy way so you'll have to figure that one out somehow. There are lots of factory ground points though and you'd just need to crimp on a hoop terminal to the black wire.

 

I can only second that. @svermilyea and @daveeasa have helped me on multiple occasions and have been correct with their advice and suggestions every single time.
@svermilyea helped me hook up my Germes as well after I installed the 6600. I am no expert when it come to car electrical stuff and cutting of the the T end was a little nerve wracking for me but it worked out just as described and performs perfectly just like it was when it was hooked up to the OEM radio.

2018, non-JBL here. I’m trying to make sure that these connectors enable the AUX connection. I also have an unused RCA Y cable for some reason. Can someone confirm that this is connected as it should be? I scrubbed this whole thread and the vehicle-specific Maestro instructions, although helpful, list this cable as “Audio Cable” in the not required box. I’m tracking that the Metro/Axxess brand components are not integrated into the RR instructions.

Well after reading this thread over the last couple of days and maybe more from the past, I bit the bullet and ordered all the necessary parts I need to do this upgrade.

I don't expect it to go flawlessly so expect some questions that may come up during my install.

BTW, I picked up the WC6600HEX from Best Buy Open Box section. Stated it as Excellent no wear at all. Got it for 997.99. So that was 202 dollars saved.

Question on the wiring of this HU, I have a blue/white line coming out of the Maestro harness labeled Amp Turn on, I also have a blue wire in that same harness labeled Antenna and it has a connector on the end of it. I also have a blue wire coming out of the antenna harness.

Do I connect all three of these?

Also do you do anything with the wire that is labeled Mute?

 

The blue/white amp on is for an aftermarket amp. If you are not adding an amp then it is not used.

I'm not sure. I never upgraded my stereo, just happened to know what the amp wire is and what its used for. Someone with the knowledge/experience can provide that information.

 

Yes, you connect all 3 blue/blue-white together. It is the only 3 way connection. The FM antenna needs power.

I also left myself 3 remote output leads, someday I'll get my amps installed. And I used a

$18 PAC TR4 PAC TR-4 Remote Turn-on Module , Black

PAC TR4 but that was definitely overkill even for any of my intended uses.

I believe normal installations would leave the mute floating. I believe that's an interrupt to tell the 6600 to mute volume b/c of an incoming phone call or perhaps radio transmission or something. In other words, for complicated setups where some external device should be able to mute the audio playback for safety reasons. Somewhere in the crutchfield vehicle specific instructions it has a mapping of maestro to pioneer wire colors for things like the speed sensor, parking brake, etc.

 

I connected the blue antenna wire from HU to the blue wire from the antenna. Amp was connected to amp and front camera. No hiccups with FM or AM HD radio. XM adapter had its own connection.

 

The blue wire labeled antenna is for connection to the antenna adapter which will also have a similar blue wire.

The blue/white is an amp turn on wire (capable of up to 500mAmp load). This is meant for an after market amp, but can be used to trigger a relay or a small load (like the GERMS Camera Controller [front/rear camera]) which you would like to have turned on when the vehicle comes on (ACC or when running).

 

Oh, sorry on confusing the antenna and remote out. My goof. Poor memory.

 

Do you do anything with the rear view camera connection? Does it connect to either of the camera inputs?

 

For the RR2 do you hook up the supplied OBD2 connector and connect it into the TO3 harness?

What port on the RR2 does the data cable connect to?

 

I kept my Germes b/c it's awesome. If not, I believe the maestro passes your rear camera signals through for you. Because, if it didn't, then the Germes wouldn't work clean.
The 6600 RCA camera inputs are for aftermarket options like a front camera (without ABC or Germes) or a rear camera on a trailer or license plate (if, say, using an in bed camper).

No good reason to use that piece, plenty of good stuff already available from the RR2 as far as vehicle metrics. There might be something only available via ODB but nothing I care about. There's a jumper in the TOwhatever harness you have to split to use it I think. I believe it's mostly there for older vehicles such as my '05 and '02 where you have a 10 and 6 pin connector so no way to capture metrics without that guy.

 

So I got mostly everything working on my new HU with the exception of the cameras.

How do I get my factory 360 view cameras to work?

Do I need to flash the Maestro and use the MPO option?

Has anyone got the Pioneer WC6600NEX and Maestro RR2 to work with factory 360 view cameras?

 

Did you ever get this working? I'm about to pull the trigger but would really like to maintain 360 camera functionality.
