So I noticed the other day that I had a 1/4 tank after having just filled up the day before. I thought, "Ok, some jackass siphoned my gas"...it happens...especially in Shit (San) Francisco. When I went to fill it back up I noticed it immediately start pouring on the ground. Looks like whoever did it tried through the filler neck and couldn't so they cut the rubber hose connecting the neck and the tank. Question is, how difficult is this to replace? I have a new one arriving tomorrow and wondering how much time to budget. Is dropping the tank necessary? I'm hoping I can get the whole thing done tomorrow evening.

    Thoughts?

Here's a Pic of my double cab I pulled the bed off to put a new fuel pump and clean my tank cause it sat for years and I put a new motor in it this month. I took this Pic today. I would not have wanted to mess with it from underneath. My Bed was simple 6 bolts pull taillights. 2 people lifted it off. Yours may be different but probably same filler neck setup.20230326_233702.jpg

Hmm, from the picture you provided that looks different than mine. Pictured below is the hose I need to replace. My thought is I can pull out the filler neck, attach the hose to the tank and kinda work them together and clamp them. Could be wrong. Mine is an xtra cab, btw.

Here's a better picture. The filler neck assembly I guess you would call it has 2 tubes fill and vent. Your part looks similar to fill on mine. Those are original factory hoses.

Me thinking about , you can get it done from underneath and not pulling bed.

Cool. I'm expecting a struggle but glad it can be done from underneath. I just hope the hose clamps are in a place that I can loosen them. :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

Easiest thing I've ever swapped out on the truck. Whole thing took about 10 minutes. Out with the old, in with the new!

Hey Boss! You wouldn't happen to still have the original hose that you could grab some dimensions for me? I need to know the ID of that hose.

Sorry for the misleading words. I meant to ask for the inside diameter of the hose when I used "ID". it should be 1 inch correct?

    It's exactly 1 inch.
