Swapping shocks on my 13' (5-lug) with bilstein 4600's and when i got the thing together and ready for the tire to go back on i noticed the spring plate overhanging the UCA. Is this normal? It seems like it will impact when the truck settles.

I know the parts are correct because i checked the parts number on the tube against Bilstein's catalog. I'm fairly certain they are installed correctly, they are bolted down exactly like the stock ones were. My only thought is that the UCA could be supposed to ride above the spring plate and when I reinstalled it after putting the strut assembly back in place it was sitting to low.

    thanks in advance

(for reference, the picture is taken from above to show overhang, parts are not in contact)

Edit: Both sides look like this

With out the spring and shock in, your UCA went full drop.
You’ll know if it’s going to hit just as soon as you let the truck down on the tires.
I’m fairly certain that UCA needs to be above the spring plate.

    Update!

I neglected to really look at the geometry. The distance between the plate and the UCA grows as load is put on it due to the upward motion of the LCA creating spring compression.

There was never a problem, except between my ears :goingcrazy:
