    Hi there,
    I have a 2021 Tacoma TRD Off Road 4x4 -

I am wondering if I was to rent a vehicle trailer to tow my daughter's 2021 Jeep Unlimited from Phoenix (through Dallas most likely) TO Tuscaloosa, AL is this "doable".

My truck is equipped with the proper equipment (hitch, brakes, wiring, load, etc) - It's not the pulling, it's the stopping. I believe our rating for towing (properly equipped, etc) is 6,700 lbs but just wondering if others have towed using a car tow trailer and a Jeep plus college items for a girl (MUCH different from boys). LOL. I've never done this drive, but I've towed plenty (with a very different set of vehicles and power).

The next question - are the towing trailers from U-Haul the right place to rent these? Thank you.

Apologies in advance if this has been asked ... Thank you in advance for you personal insight and professional opinions (or non professional) :) .

    It’s doable if,
You stay under the the 6,400 tow rating.
You stay under 11,300 lbs gvwr.
    You have trailer brakes.

You and your truck probably won’t like it.
You need to use your gears manually, other wise your transmission is going to get a good work out.
If you meet the above criteria, it’s doable.

BTW, you can for to the U-haul site and see if your truck and the vehicle you are towing is compatible.
U-haul uses a surge brake on their trialers, so you don’t need a brake box inside the truck.
But……U-haul is conservative on their rating system, so don’t be surprised if they don’t rent you a trailer.
