It was time for new tires so I did the cab mount chop, bought a 2" leveling kit and bought Ion 171-6883 wheels and LT285/75R16 KO2s for my 2010 TRD Off Road. Now I find that although the backspacing is not a problem, the spoke profile of the Ion 171's is a problem and causes interference with the brake calipers. I know I can add wheel spacers but I don't want the tires sticking out past the body panels more than necessary.

The stock caliper protrudes (is proud of) the hub face by about 25mm (1"). I'd like to know if a big brake kit exists that will both move the caliper farther from the centerline and has a caliper that is "lower profile" (i.e. "less proud"), therefore giving me more clearance behind the wheel spokes. I printed the template for the Tundra 13WL swap but found that this swap does not clear these wheels either.

My question is: is there a big brake swap with calipers that are lower profile and therefore protrude less? I haven't found templates for any others.

Your guidance would be much appreciated. Thx.

Going to be hard finding a big brake kit that's smaller than what you currently have.

If the spacers are a big no, just get new wheels.

The calipers will only protrude more than OEM with any quality BBK.
