I have a 2020 Tacoma TRD Off-road. Current tires are the stock OEM GoodyearWrangler All Terrain Adventure with Kevlar. They have performed ok but are nearing end of life. This is my daily driver but we do like to drive on WI forest service roads a few times a year and if we go on vacation once a year to a place with some mild to moderate off road trails we will do a few. Such as CO, UT, TX. Nothing hardcore though. We do tow a small pop up at 1,600 pounds. I was thinking of the Falken Wildpeak A/TW3 but I have heard good things about the BFG Trail Terrain A/T. Maybe they would ride better on the road, quieter, and better MPG. I want the tire to be capable for my limited off-road but don’t want to over buy for my occasional off road use. Thoughts? Has anyone had both of these tires to compare their experience? Would the Trail Terrains be similar to my OEM GY’s? Thanks!

@TacoWI I can tell you that many forum members have had and would recommend Falken. The BFGoodrich Trail is a new product to the market. Probably not many out in circulation as of yet. I can tell you that the factory Goodyear and BFG are the same weight at 37lbs and the Falken is 42lbs. If weight is a concern. Price is about the same. I hope this helps some.

I’m grappling with the same decision. The Wildpeaks on my ‘10 OR will need replacing this fall They have served me well but grow noisier as they wear and the truck is evolving into a road tripper and soft roader. The Trail Terrains are five pounds lighter per Discount Tires web site. I’m leaning toward the Trail Terrains.

Thanks for the response. I figured this question may be a challenge given the newness of the BFG’s. The lower weight is appealing.

Thanks for your thoughts. The Falkens would most likely serve me well as they have for you, but I am trying hard to be honest with myself and how I actually use the truck and what tires best fit that usage.
