:facepalm:Fusion is what I meant. I downloaded a free version and now I can't use it as it says 'trial expired, read only' when I launch it....

EDIT: Ah on their website it says "Fusion 360 for personal use is free for 3 years for qualifying non-commercial users." I guess I messed up by getting it and letting it sit on my computer for this long...

Yeah, you just have to re subscribe- It's a pretty frustrating process. They obscure it so you just cave in and get a subscription.

    Bunch of stuff
My welding table usually ends up being my work bench for any project I do. Obviously for any metal stuff. Can do wood stuff on it too. If I need to deal with small little parts like hardware or something I have some pieces of carpet that I line the top of the table with so that things don’t get scratched on the table and little things don’t fall through the holes on the table

I was gifted two 8 ft, 2x12 lam-board joists. And I had two 8 ft 4x4 treated posts from when I had thought of making gardening/outdoor work. Probably the arsenic-infused pressure-treated ...

Since I had no houses to build and no gardening, I had to use those. The bench legs are staggered in length to follow the slope from the door down toward the front of the garage. And almost every joint in the bench is dowels ... it was quite the experiment finding out how hard that can be if one has no metal for construction. This bench has metal in ONLY 2 places:

    The support braces in front
Lag bolts to hold it to the wall

Top one was built for a local truck shop, bottom two are mine. I built two identical ones to the last photo; they're 7ft wide and usually live in an 8ft "bay" in the pallet racking in the shop, but can be rolled out as needed.

True woodworkers make their daily-use workbench as demonstrations of their custom-joint (mortice-tenon, dovetail, slot-dowel) skills.

I made mine 6 years ago. It’s all dovetail and drawbored mortises and tenons. It’s a rock. The only hardware is for mounting the vices and pop up bench dogs I added later.

I’m tempted to make another to see how much cleaner the joinery would be. I would consider a nicer hardwood but I like how the pine is forgiving, and I don’t sweat it as much when I run a saw into the side of it!

I am calling the specialist negotiator immediately! Now ... young person ... we both know that this kind of obsessive behavior can only lead to an endless cycle of following non-existent unrealities down the rabbit-hole.
