    Hey All

I have a 2019 Tacoma currently with the following:
    • BF Goodrich KO2 285/75/16 = 33” - On the "Stock" Toyota rims, which I believe the stock is: 16x7 - Offset: 25mm
    • Old Man Emu 2-Inch Stock Load Suspension Lift Kit
    • 1.25-Inch Billet 6-Lug Wheel Spacers
    • I had to do a small amount of modification, trimming to avoid rubbing
    • There is a very small amount of rubbing, but ONLY if hard compressed off-road turns
I want to change the rims, but I want to make sure that I get ones that will not rub:
    • Should I search for a 16 x 7 Offset 25mm
    • or should I get 0 offset? I'm confused because I've been told to look for a 0 offset to stop any potential rubbing
    • I tried on a 16 x 8.5 - 0 offset, but this was NOT possible at all, they rubbed badly

    Can I get some advice?

If they don't rub now, then same size and offset will also not rub with a new wheel. If you want to know how much more offset you can push, crank your wheel to one side all the way and then get out and check. You can set a flat ruler on the top of your tire and measure the clearance. Do with each wheel, convert to MM, and that's how much you can reduce offset from stock.

@RonnyC this is an example of factory offset and aftermarket with out spacers.

Here is a link to understanding offset. I hope this helps.

So we removed the spacers, however the issue was the bolts weren’t then long enough for the rims. Is there a simple or reasonable way to correct that issue?

    offset seems too high.

So would the 8.5 fit and not rub if I had a different offset?

@RonnyC most aftermarket wheels require an ET lug which will give you enough thread engagement. If you mean the stud was not long enough. A different offset will allow an 8.5 to fit properly.

Yes that is exactly what the issue was, or is. Excuse my ignorance, but how would I go about getting this ET Lug? I'm currently living in Mexico near Puerto Vallarta, I would think this is available here, but more importantly, I wonder if that would stop the rubbing, and not rub on the inside?

I bought 17x9 Vision Manx 2 rims with +12MM of offset that are sitting on 275/70/17s with an OME-005 2.5 Heavy kit and SPC UCAs. Only rubbing I get is max compression off road at full lock (rubs the plastic inner fender). Your tires are taller and 10mm wider so I would consider a cab mount chop (CMC) since those meats you are sitting on are not cheap.
