I considered the whole kill switch.

But instead I bought this throttle Controller. It has the ability to lock out the throttle via bluetooth from your phone and then with a push of a button from your phone it can unlock it. Thieves might start your truck but wont be able to drive anywhere unless they know enough to disconnect it. It can remain completely hidden too.

How have you liked that throttle control/ability to lock out (no real reviews online)? Last Tacoma was recently stolen... Looking for ways to better secure the new one.

It works really well. Literally open the app on my phone and then lock the throttle, super fast and it connects to my android phone very fast.

I do use this method, but it doesn't stop your fob from being "hacked" if some one is sitting in a parking lot scanning as you drive in and park. They still have that time between you getting out and locking your truck and fob.
How close does a person even have to be to scan a fob?
Are they targeting specific single cars or they picking up multiples in a single scan and can save them and come get you later?
    Thieves are the absolute worst.

I think 95% of us would be worried about the random assho!e coming down your street scanning for an unlocked fob. A pro is going to win every time.
