Proud owner of a 2017 4WD double cab sr5. Looking to upgrade my tire and rim setup to something bigger and better looking without a suspension lift. Various articles around the internet list 265 70r17 or 265 75r16 as the biggest possible tire/wheel combinations that could fit on stock suspension. Does anyone out there have a setup with these dimensions? Do they actually fit? Is their a certain rim offset I could use to make a more aggressive looking setup but still fit? Is their another tire/rim combination that would work and achieve a better look/functionality? What is the best route to go tire wise for something that looks good (a little rugged), but would still be relatively comfortable on the street? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is by far the most common question on these forums, so you might not get much feedback. There are literally thousands of threads on the topic.

Yes, you can fit 265/70R17 or 265/75R16's on stock suspension. Personally, I think everyone looking for a bit more aggressive look should try one of these sizes first.

Once you start messing with different offsets and larger tire sizes, it becomes a more difficult question on whether or not they will fit without modification.

My suggestion would be to browse these forums and find the look you want, and then do some research on that setup. Use the search function, or alternatively, include "tacomaworld" in your Google search seems to work better sometimes.

Some threads to get you started:

    265/75/16
    265/70/17
    275/70/17
    235/85/16
    235/80/17
    255/80/17

Will all fit. Might have to remove front mudflaps.

Also, suspension lift does not help clear larger tires on Toyota IFS.

16in wheel will make the tire look larger than a 17in or larger wheel.

I second what TacoGranny said. Everything you want to know is already on here somewhere. Just search the tire you’re interested in. The 265/75r16’s will fit without rubbing. Once you start messing with new wheels and different offsets, you could run into rubbing.

You're missing one important part of the equation - 265-70-R17 and 265-75-R16 will both fit if the offset works. Too far in and you run the risk of rubbing on suspension components.

255/75/17 is a good size with variety of options too.
