Hi guys. I am excited to get my first Tacoma.
    I am looking at a 2020 SR5. It has about 40k miles.

I saw on the carfax report the transmission/differential fluid was never changed.
    Should I have this done?

Also, it has a hitch, but not the tow package.
Can I still have that package added on through Toyota? I want to boost my tow capacity for a boat and or camper.
I am new to all of this. Thank you in advance.

    Welcome to TW!

Don't know what the truck looks like or your region so I don't know if the diff fluid is under suspicion of needing a change. Couldn't hurt though.

    Regarding tow package, if it's a V6 it's standard.

The tow package is standard? Does that mean the transmission cooler is mounted to the radiator? I am on my way to see the truck in about one hour. Thank you.

I don’t think it’s standard, I could be wrong though.
If it has a transmission cooler, it should look something like this. See the little guy under the horn. I think this one is aftermarket, the OEM one is black I believe, at least it is for 2nd gen Tacomas.

So if anything, I am looking for a small radiator in front of the main radiator as in years past.
It’s not a dealbreaker if there is no tow package included. However, I am curious if the dealer will install a tow package? Or would I be better off purchasing an aftermarket towing package kit and have my mechanic install it? Thank you all again.

About halfway through the 2020 MY the transmission cooler was removed. If it's a V6 then it will have the tow package.

I’m sure the dealer would happily install it, although they’re going to charge you out the wazzoo, I would install it yourself or go with a trusted mechanic. In my experience, dealers do mediocre work at best while charging an obscene rate.

Ding ding ding ! Winner winner gets a chicken dinner!
He told me what you said. It is standard on the V6. We went outside and sure enough. Tranny radiator, and the oil cooler part
